Scholarship Application:
Writing in the Pines

Deadline: March 1, 2023, 11:59pm EST

Judges will review submissions and make their selections based on a combination of merit and need.

We can only consider one application per writer and recommend submitting your strongest work. It's fine to submit work in a different genre than you would like to write at the program.

This attendance-based scholarship is made possible by the Stockton Center on Successful Aging (SCOSA). The requirements for this scholarship are based on the requirements of SCOSA's grant. They include the following:

  • Must be 60 years of age or older as of April 22, 2023.
  • Must reside in either Ocean County, NJ or Atlantic County, NJ.
  • Complete the form below and upload your writing sample as follows: Format a single Word or PDF document with up to 3 poems (single spaced, one poem per page, 12 pt font) or up to 3 pages of prose (double spaced, 12 pt font). Excerpts of longer pieces are okay. If your submission exceeds these lengths and/or does not meet the formatting guidelines, we will not be able to consider it.

We are unable to accept snail mail applications.
